about us

The Friends of the Cape Coral Library is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the resources and services of the library. The Friends raise funds for supporting programs and purchasing materials for the library that are not covered by the Lee County budget. As library advocates, our members speak out in support of local, state, and national libraries.

The Friends of the Cape Coral library actively promote and support the library through programs and activities, including:

  • Book sales
  • Special fundraising events
  • Membership meetings devoted to topics of interest to library supporters
  • Guest author appearances that help to build interest in books and reading
  • Public programs that provide cultural enrichment for the community

Libraries are a place for contemplation, enrichment and relaxation. One of the resources the Friends of the Cape Coral Library provides to all visitors is the beautiful Butterfly Garden. More information...

reading room

Another space funded by The Friends for the enjoyment and enrichment of the visitor's experience is the reading room in the adult section of the library. Leather reading chairs, hard-wood tables and a beautifully appointed, walled space overlooking the butterfly garden is a relaxing and comfortable way to catch up on the latest news, peruse the many periodicals located nearby, or wait to meet a friend.

come and see

General Membership Meetings, which are free and open to the public, are held at the Cape Coral Library on a Saturday morning during the months of January, March, May, July, September and November. Dates can vary; please be sure to check the calendar. Join us at 9:30 a.m. for coffee and snacks, then a business meeting, followed by an interesting and informative presentation. Socialize with members, hear about upcoming events, and find out how you can help us make this important community resource, our library, even better.
